Virtual asset benchmarks now available in the Netherlands

The Netherlands virtual asset BESS benchmark, ME vBESS NL, is now available for 1, 2 and 4-hour batteries. It covers modelled revenues across day-ahead, intraday auction (IDA2), intraday continuous (ID3), FCR, and aFRR capacity and energy markets.

That takes European benchmark coverage to six markets: Great Britain, Spain, Poland, Germany, Italy, and now the Netherlands. View the benchmarks →

You can also create a bespoke virtual asset to match your own asset. Configure duration, efficiency, cycling, and market participation.

Why it’s useful

A virtual asset benchmark represents theoretical asset performance derived by running Modo Energy's global dispatch model against historic market conditions. The benchmark helps:

  • Developers compare battery durations and import connection sizes.
  • Investors and lenders assess modelled revenues using an independent reference, by duration and market.
  • Asset owners and optimisers compare real asset performance against the benchmark.

How to view the benchmarks and create virtual assets

You can view the benchmarks on the Modo Energy Terminal →
