Revenues for battery energy storage systems (BESS) in ERCOT are expected to settle at $3.16/kW-month for September 2025, 73% higher than in September 2024.

For July 2025, settlements confirm that batteries earned $2.03/kW-month - a marginal increase of 2.5% over July 2024.

​Greater opportunities for energy arbitrage drove the increase in September, as Real-Time price spreads rose by 8% from $56/MWh to $61/MWh. These higher spreads were a consequence of rising gas prices, higher demand, and increased wind and solar generation compared to September 2024.
