The ME BESS GB index averaged £51k/MW across November to February, down 34% from last winter’s revenues of £76k/MW. February was particularly weak at an annualised rate of £41k/MW, the lowest monthly figure in two years. The explanation comes down to two things: where daily peak residual demand sat, and what gas prices did when it got there.
