Volatility returned to ERCOT in August. Real-Time TB1 spreads averaged $86/MWh, up 116% from July and 47% above August 2025, the highest since April. Day-Ahead TB1 spreads rose 23% month-over-month to $55/MWh, still 30% below last August. Five spike days in the back half of the month drove the move and concentrated battery revenue opportunity.
June, the latest month with settled revenues, saw average battery revenues of $1.11/kW-month, the lowest recorded in ERCOT. That is also 34% below May's $1.67 and 43% below June 2025.
