NEM battery adjusted capture rates – 20 March 2026

This article presents Modo Energy’s weekly adjusted capture rate analysis for batteries operating in Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM). The adjusted capture rate measures how effectively each battery captures available revenue, accounting for Marginal Loss Factors (MLFs), network constraints, contract positions, and asset availability. All data is available for download by clicking the button at the bottom of the charts.

This article is an update on capture rates only. For the full analysis, read our latest capture rate analysis here.

State capture rate overview

Capacity-weighted capture rates by state, showing the breakdown between actual revenue earned and potential revenue lost to constraints, MLFs, contracts and availability. Values are expressed in $k/MW to allow comparison across assets of different sizes.

Potential revenue by battery

A waterfall breakdown of each battery’s potential revenue per MW, decomposed into actual revenue, remaining uncaptured potential, and the adjustments for network constraints, marginal loss factors, contract derating and availability. Toggle between weekly and quarterly views and filter by state.
