Australian data centre capacity looks set to exceed 3 GW by 2030, across projects already operational, under construction, or with development approval. This growth is aligned with AEMO's 2025 Accelerated DC Growth sensitivity, used in Modo Energy’s central scenario NEM forecast. Beyond 2030 sits a growing gap between committed capacity and this scenario, which depends on a number of large, planning-stage projects progressing.
