Battery energy storage systems in Great Britain earned £60k/MW/year in August 2025. Varied renewable energy generation caused a split in revenues and trading opportunities across the month. After a strong start to August, daily revenues fell to a rate of £40k/MW/year. A final jump in earnings over the bank holiday and the last day of the month pushed revenues up 9% from July.

Batteries in Great Britain earned £60.1k/MW/year in August. The increase came despite Capacity Market revenues falling to their lowest level since 2020/21, when the T-1 auction cleared at just £1k/MW/year.
